There are two types of interpreting: simultaneous and consecutive.
Simultaneous interpreting occurs when a presenter and interpreter speak at the same time. This type of interpreting typically requires the use of special interpreting equipment such as headsets and microphones. It is usually used in large conference settings.
Consecutive interpreting involves the speaker of the source language frequently pausing so that the interpreter can restate the last few sentences. Sound equipment generally isn't required for consecutive interpreting. It is used in small settings such as business meetings, interviews, depositions, and press conferences.
We offer both consecutive and simultaneous interpreting.
Business conferences and events are often attended by people from all over the world who don’t speak the same languages as the presenters. Our experienced interpreters can help you bridge that language gap.
Such events usually require the use of simultaneous interpreters. These interpreters will typically sit in a sound-proof booth and speak into a microphone. Their interpretation is transmitted wirelessly to the target-language listeners, who listen through earphones.
Because simultaneous interpreting is such mentally taxing work, two interpreters per language are usually necessary for conferences and events.
Accuracy is always one of Language Translation's priorities, but that's especially true when it comes to legal interpreting. Our legal interpreters have specialized legal education and training. That training allows them to interpret complex, specific legal terminology on a moment's notice. So you can be sure that we convey both the letter and the spirit of the law.
Many states require the use of certified court interpreters. Certified court interpreters have passed a comprehensive language exam, usually administered by the State, which attests to their understanding of and language proficiency in legal terms, concepts, and functions of the U.S. and State judicial system.
With this court certification, our interpreters are qualified to interpret in a variety of legal settings, including:
